Event Synopsis: Before moving to the U.S., either to be a US resident or to own a property, it is best to be aware of Pre-Immigration Tax Planning. Because of the U.S. taxation system’ extreme differences with other countries’ tax laws, non-residents may face difficulties in this area of law. Thus, they must be well-informed about how and when they will be treated as residents for U.S. tax purposes to avoid getting substantial penalties. The U.S. is strict when it comes to tax and its legal systems. The consequences of violations may even outweigh the cost for pre-immigration tax planning. In a LIVE Webcast, a panel of thought leaders and practitioners assembled by The Knowledge Group will discuss the significant issues and latest Trends, Developments and Updates on Pre-Immigration Tax Planning in 2018. Key issues that will be covered in this course are: • U.S. tax compliance • International Income Tax Planning • International Estate Planning • Ownership of U.S. Real Estate • Foreign Asset and Bank Account Reporting • Potential Pitfalls and Planning About The Knowledge Group/The Knowledge Congress Live Webcast Series The Knowledge Group was established with the mission to produce unbiased, objective, and educational live webinars that examine industry trends and regulatory changes from a variety of different perspectives.
