African American Women In Cinema Presents a Special Screening During Sundance 2019 for Critically Acclaimed Film, ‘What Death Leaves Behind’.

[New York, NY] - African American Women In Cinema (AAWIC) a non-profit organization based in New York City is excited to host its 3rd special film screening program during this years Sundance Film Festival in Park City Utah. In addition, on January 25, 2019 will be a VIP meet & greet sponsored by the Utah African American Chamber of Commerce. This year’s film will be a thriller, ‘What Death Leaves Behind,’ starring Christopher Mann (House of Cards/ The Wire), Erin Obrien (lead role), Alexandra Tydings, Kelly Dowdle, Vincent Young (NCIS/Escape Plan 2), and Johnny Alonso. The screening will be held January 26, 2019 from 630pm to 930pm at Utah Film Studios, located at 4001 Kearns Blvd, Park City, Utah, 84060.

This unique film deals with a hot button issue that is plaguing the nation today and it is “mental illness.”Nearly one in five U.S. adults live with mental illness (44.7 million in 2016).

SYNOPSIS:
After a kidney transplant, Jake Warren experiences a recurring nightmare he believes to be visions of his donor’s violent murder, sending him on a dark path of deranged vengeance, leading to an unbearable truth. Directed by Scott A. Hamilton, with a story by Executive Producer  Chad Morton, Producer Rachel K. Ofori put together a supernatural, psychological thriller inspired by the truth. This film is based on the real scientific theory of “cell memory” and inspired by a true and personal occurrence. The film’s  executive producer chose this project after his cousin went through dialysis and a kidney transplant followed by unexplained dreams. this experience inspire the film’s plot.

AAWIC has positioned itself in a collaborative relationship with Sundance community to flourish through 2019 and beyond. The film screening will be followed by a Q&A and VIP networking reception. Cast attending: Christopher Mann, Vincent Young, Erin Obrien, Johnny Alonso, Kelly Dowdle & Wayne Shearer.
