Remington College Again Offers Complimentary Back-to-School Haircuts through “Cuts for Kids”
Heathrow, Fla. – (June 13, 2012) – Remington College is again showing why it’s a cut above by bringing back its popular Cuts for Kids program.
For the fourth consecutive year, Remington College cosmetology programs across the country will provide complimentary back-to-school haircuts this summer for kids ages 17 and under. The program runs for a two week period prior to the start of most schools in each campus community.
The goal for this year’s Cuts for Kids event is to pass the 10,000 mark for complimentary haircuts provided since the program began. Remington College has provided more than 8,000 complimentary haircuts through Cuts for Kids so far.
“Hitting the 10,000 mark will be a true milestone for us,” said Dr. Mike Lanouette, Vice President and Chief Academic Officer for Remington College. “It continues to be a great way for us to meet our goal of community involvement and giving back.”
Cuts for Kids is a win-win for both the Remington College students providing the haircuts and the younger students receiving the haircuts.
The Remington College Cosmetology Program takes a hands-on approach to teaching students the art of hair, skin and nail care. Cuts for Kids allows students, under the supervision of instructors, to have the opportunity to work with real clients in a salon-like setting. The program is available at thirteen Remington College campuses: Baton Rouge, Memphis, Tampa, Houston (three locations), Cleveland, Mobile, Lafayette, Nashville, Dallas and Columbia (South Carolina) and Honolulu.
As for the kids receiving the haircuts, they get to go back to school looking and feeling their best, and their parents get to save money on the cost of back-to-school expenses.
